i just got back from vacay..and when i say "just" i mean that only minutes ago i rolled out of the car. i am currently blogging at bryan's house. it was a REALLY great getaway. we(bryan and i) first went to lawrence and stayed there for a day just to walk around and do some shopping. lawrence is a really cool city...it reminds me a little of fayetteville i would say, but more like "old" fayetteville when the music scene still had clunk and old jr's. we then proceeded to kc and stayed with some of our friends there...really fun great people. on friday night we just hung out with them and went to get some delish burgers and a couple of drinks. on sat, we went to worlds of fun with the couple we were staying with and another couple that they're friends with. yayyyy lots of rollercoasters!! we got some kind of after 4 special...it was cheaper and cooler and less crowded! i really like riding rollercoasters at night. i think the mamba is still my favorite, we even rode it once with arms up and eyes closed the entire way. however, they have a newer one called the patriot that i also thoroughly enjoyed...and the patriotic colors also had me bursting with pride that america is my place of residency. go america! sunday was a chill day, and that night we took the couple we stayed with to an indian restaurant. when i first tried indian food, i wasn't too sure about it...now i LOVE it! i wish there was a good indian place around here. monday night, bryan and i had a date night at a sushi place called kona and went to a concert(my morning jacket) afterwards....it was delish sushi, and the creme brulee was to die for...and the show was AWESOME...loved it. we stopped and had a winsteads' burger on the way back that was also very good...and on the way home, we did a little wine tasting a macadoodles. tonight, pizza and a movie perhaps? i'm not ready to go back to the real world. i have to start back to class on thurs and back to work fri, and class again on sat. so i had better REALLY enjoy my last day off. on that note, i'm going to go get to enjoying. ciao!

arghhhhhhh...boating?

it is 10:10 on a monday night and i'm currently at work. that's right...it is a little late to be at work. my boss called me and asked me if i could come in and stay at the house while her baby and her sister's baby sleep so that she can go hang out with some family that are in from out of town. i didn't come in until a little before 10, so i hope she decides to stay out VERY late b/c that would mean i would get off even earlier on friday. i am definitely not much for working late...UNLESS it means getting to start my weekend earlier.
ok..for the float trip......i think we've decided on going not this weekend but the next (aug 1st-2nd). and we're considering renting a pontoon(?) boat somewhere in bella vista. this was vu and amy's idea..and i think it's a great one. what does everyone else think? i THINK it will be around $80, which would add up to about $15 each, depending on how many people are going. but, i also noticed that a boat permit thing is required...as well as the cost for gas in the boat? vu and amy..maybe you know more about this? or is there some crazy chance that someone already has a boating permit?
ok...thanks for reading!

i'm currently taking a lunch break..i have to be back to work in about 15 mins. this past week has been a crazy one. as most/all of you know, my mom had surgery on monday to remove the cancer on her colon. she's recovering well...the pain around the incision is starting to set in and icecream makes her sick, but she is very relieved to have the surgery over with...as are we all. she will probably be going home friday-ish.

last weekend, a long-time friend of mine from michigan came to visit. it was his first "real" visit to arkansas, and i think it made a good impression on him. as far as oklahoma is concerned..well...that's a different story. it was very good to see him again...but it made for a tres exhausted jenny. after partying late all weekend(and going to the safari on sat morning..yay cute baby lemurs), i dropped him off at the tulsa airport at like 5ish(meaning we left siloam at around 3:30), i went back home and slept for a couple of hours and went to the hospital at around 9:30. i think i've caught up on my sleep since then...but all of this rainy weather plays games with my head.

and now it's time to head back to work..and then back to the hospital. to everyone who mentioned silver dollar city........PLEASE LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!! i want to do that and a float trip b/f the summer is over...and it's going by so fast!! let's set some dates for these events please? anyone? anyone??

awkward?

Awkward= being at work while Kourtney is taking a nap in her room and Elijah is taking a nap in his room and some strange guy is working on internet stuff in the kitchen. What am I supposed to do during this time? This is one of the few times I wish the little man would wake up early from his nap. And he cries...

for real this time

Hello world! I'm back in this crazy blogging world...and I'm vowing to keep this one UPDATED!!! Right now, the little guy I'm taking care of is asleep. He has just entered the phase where he takes one short morning nap and one looongg afternoon nap. I'm starting to really love my afternoons. I do have plenty of work to keep me busy, such as laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, weeding, pretty much any household chore you can think of plus other random things the family asks me to do. However, on days like today, I am putting all of them off to take a much needed break to sit in a quiet house in front of the computer and type.

Yesterday, during the 3 hours of napping, I took a shower and got ready for the evening. I know the family I work for has offered to let me use their shower b/c i have a very strange shower-situation at my apartment. However, I don't think they probably meant for me to use it during work? But, Kourtney was gone to Little Rock and I had worked my little behind off all morning. With Elijah asleep, I didn't see much harm in it. I even considered doing it again today, but I don't want to make a habit out of it. But daaaaamn, it felt good! It's funny how much you appreciate showering when you don't have one of your own.

Last night, I met up with my parents and Bryan in Fayetteville to eat at a place called Lulu's Fish Shack. I don't really recommend that place for its food...but they do have a nice patio area outside. I drank a beer in front of my parents last night. I've had wine in front of them before, but never beer so it was a little strange. It was just a corona...I still don't like a lot of beers, unless they're very light and have some kind of fruit squeezed in them. Before my parents got there, I accidentally knocked over my corona, spilling about half of it onto Bryan and myself. So, although we had both really only had a few sips, we both reeked of alcohol when my parents walked up. I told them what happened, and my mom commented that she did notice the strong alcohol smell when they first came up. I just hope i don't still smell like that today at work since I haven't had a chance to shower!

Justin and Sonja are in Wisconsin...and got to go to the BIGGEST WATERPARK IN THE WORLD(?) the first day they were there....I wanna go! I am still dying to ride some rollercoasters before the end of summer....who's in??

Also, if you haven't heard, we found out that my mom has cancer on her colon. It is concentrated in the one area, which is very good news. And on Tuessday, July 1st, she's meeting with the surgeon to set a day for the surgery, which will probably be later that week. The recovery process sounds like it will be the most difficult part...the first month she is supposed to take it REALLY easy, and it could take up to a year for her to fully recover. Despite all of that, she seems to be in really good spirits and she's trying to enjoy the last little bit of her summer b/f the surgery, which will put a bit of a damper on it for sure. She is a very strong lady. So everyone, please keep her in your prayers...that would be much appreciated! I will try to update on when her surgery will be taking place.

Thanks for listening! Signing out until next time!
